Why the healthcare sector is vital

Covid 19 Accelerated Innovation in Health

Despite the pandemic we’ve seen a record high number of VC deals in the Nordics the last couple of years.

The healthcare and life science sector attracted the second most investments in 2020, with 40 percent more transactions than the average between 2015 and 2019. The access to capital is good, most likely because we have well-functioning framework conditions for these companies in Norway and because the Norwegian environment for successful healthcare and life science companies are developing fast.

The pandemic has highlighted the importance of the sector and accelerated many parts of the industry, like digital health technology, which has boosted many Nordic companies. In the Norwegian environment we continuously get more valuable experience and have several promising companies up and coming as we speak. And even if some of them are or will be acquired by large international players, we gain important experience and capital in the Norwegian environment, which benefits the sector and makes the environment even stronger. The increasing pool of successful companies attracts new investors and interesting partnerships across the Nordic country boarders.
